Description
A hearty, cheesy, and comforting Slow Cooker Steak and Cheddar Potato Casserole made with tender steak, creamy potatoes, and melted cheddar. Perfect for busy nights or weekend meals.
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 large russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp butter
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
1. Season steak with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
2. Sear steak pieces in butter for 2–3 minutes for added flavor.
3. Place sliced potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker.
4. Add onions and garlic on top of the potatoes.
5. Layer seared steak over the vegetables.
6. Pour in beef broth and heavy cream.
7. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the mixture.
8. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
9. Stir gently and top with remaining cheese.
10. Cover for 10 minutes until cheese melts.
11. Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheddar for best melting.
Thin potato slices ensure even cooking.
Sear steak for deeper flavor, but you may skip to save time.
