  • Yield: 68 servings 1x

Description

Tender slow cooker pork chops simmered in a rich, creamy gravy made with onions, thyme, and savory seasonings.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp seasoned salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme

2 Tbsp vegetable oil

1 Tbsp butter

8 boneless pork loin chops (1-inch thick, about 3 lbs)

1 large onion, sliced

1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.75 oz)

1 1/4 cups chicken broth

3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

4 sprigs fresh thyme

Cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes

Instructions

1. Whisk flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, and thyme in a plate.

2. Dredge pork chops in the mixture and set aside.

3. Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Sear pork chops for 3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

5. Cook sliced onions for 5 minutes until softened.

6. Add soup, broth, and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker and whisk.

7. Add onions and thyme sprigs.

8. Nestle pork chops into the mixture.

9. Cook on high for 1 hour, then low for 2 hours.

10. Serve with gravy over noodles or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Sprinkle fresh thyme on top before serving.

The gravy thickens as it cooks and tastes even better the next day.
