Tender and flavorful honey garlic slow cooker chicken thighs cooked in a rich, sweet, and savory sauce. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated ginger
1 green onion, sliced
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
2. Combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, ginger, vinegar, pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
4. Cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours.
5. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
6. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
7. Cook for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
8. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
9. Serve warm with rice, noodles, or vegetables.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired.
Add extra red pepper flakes for a spicier taste.
This recipe works with chicken breasts as well.
Leftovers taste even better the next day.
