Juicy chicken breasts coated in smoky BBQ sauce, topped with crispy bacon and melted cheddar. This bold and cheesy cowboy-style recipe is perfect for easy dinners or backyard cookouts.

Ingredients

Scale

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

8 slices bacon

1/2 cup barbecue sauce

1 cup cheddar cheese

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup green onions

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

2. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

3. Heat olive oil in a skillet.

4. Sear the chicken for 2 minutes per side.

5. Place chicken in a baking dish.

6. Brush barbecue sauce over each chicken breast.

7. Add cooked bacon slices on top.

8. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the bacon.

9. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.

10. Remove from the oven and top with green onions.

Notes

Grill the chicken instead of baking for stronger smoky flavor.

Use spicy barbecue sauce if you prefer extra heat.

Pepper jack cheese works well as a cheddar substitute.
